Auf einem hügeligen Strand in einer kleinen Bucht in Griechenland rahmt das Ufer das Gewässer. In der Ferne erstreckt sich das Meer in die Weite und geht in Wolkenformationen oder ein weit entferntes, gebirgiges Ufer über. Einige kleine Häuser im Stil der kykladischen Architektur sowie vereinzelt aufragende Strommasten durchbrechen die scheinbare Leere und Unendlichkeit der Natur.

So malt Walter Angerer-Niketa die Landschaft Griechenlands in einem an Cézannesken Stil, beinahe als Traum oder Vision, die sich aus der planen Fläche des Blattes heraus entfaltet. Die blobartigen Formen der Aquarellfarbe, einzeln kaum als gegenständliche Elemente auszumachen, verschmelzen und überlagern sich zu einem harmonisch komponierten maritimen Ambiente.

On a hilly beach in a small bay in Greece, the shoreline frames the body of water. In the distance, the sea stretches out into vastness, merging into cloud formations or a far-off mountainous coastline. A few small houses in the style of Cycladic architecture, along with sporadically rising power pylons, interrupt the apparent emptiness and infinity of nature.

In this way, Walter Angerer-Niketa paints the Greek landscape in a Cézannesque manner, almost as a dream or vision unfolding from the flat surface of the sheet. The blob-like forms of the watercolor, individually scarcely recognizable as representational elements, merge and overlap to form a harmoniously composed maritime atmosphe.
